Is Maine A Racist State?

Hello, Yahoo! Community! I'm thinking of places to live after I'll graduate from college. And I live in Arkansas and I hate it with every bone in my body!! So I wanted a change of scenery. I've seen Maine on tv and it looks pretty nice. I consider myself African American, though I'm mixed with Caucasian and some other races, so I am pretty pale for my race. So I was wondering would Maine would be the right choice?? Also would it be a good move for my career of being an Architect??
