How to transport a computer SAFELY with air cargo?

As you say its going in the hold.....personally I would dismantle it and bubble wrap each part, this will protect it against the coldness of the hold, as will lots of newspaper inbetween each part so that if there is any collision with anything else in the hold, none of the pieces will knock against each other in the box.
