Why don't the Conservatives understand that to hand over the NHS to private hands means they are finished?

As tallboy says, people are fickle. The Tories aren't worried about being out of power for years to come. They are ensuring they and their wealthy backers will make a fortune before they get kicked out and will try and ensure that anything they do cannot be undone. I remember after Thatcher that people said never again, but a new generation of voters comes along who don't seem to believe a word of what they are told about the uncaring Tories and here we go again. The Tories like to privatise and it's not us that gains out of it, quite the opposite. Our gas, electric and railways have all been sold off with a few wealthy people making a fortune out of them, as for us, we pay through the teeth with ever increasing prices.
