1996 corolla swings but no spark at spark plug?

Got car from family, no remotes just one black dongle, key is a normal silver key. Have driven the car without use of dongle, the ignition was sticky, I dismantled the ignition key system and now the car will not start, the alarm seems to come on, it did not seem to work previously.
